0010189: Severe performance issues after crossing tile border
As soon as I enter a certain area, each turn takes about 0.5 - 1 second to register, and my CPU usage jumps to nearly 100%. I have a pretty poor computer, so I'm used to pauses when I walk between map tiles or enter/leave fast travel. But the way it performs in that area, it's like I have to load a whole new area every single step I take.

Until this point, I had no idea adventure mode COULD be this intensive. Even when I was running a Fortress, with 100s of entities, 10s of 1000s of items, and multiple z-levels, my fps stayed consistently above 5. Since adventure mode is turn-based, and that section of the map is pretty empty, I don't understand what could be causing it.

I tried enabling tweak fast-heat to check if it was because the nearby river was freezing over, but that didn't seem to make a difference.

Sleep until dawn, then walk (not fast travel) about two map tiles until you get to an empty, snowy field. That's where the problems started for me.

Some extra system/version information, since I can't figure out how to edit my original report:

OS: Windows 10 Pro, Version 1511, Build 10586.839
Hardware: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 17300 @ 2.00 GHz, 4.00 GB RAM, 64 bit OS/processor
Dwarf Fortress: LNP version 0.43.03-r09; I believe, but am not 100% sure, that I am running 32-bit.

I'd really appreciate it if somebody else could verify whether this occurs on their computer as well. I don't think it's just my bad computer, because it was working fine before, but there's no way to tell without somebody else's help.

Edit: I've done some more testing and the issue seems to be more related to the morning, and less to that area in particular. Specifically, the issues start right as your view begins to expand.
