0001158: Downwards slope symbol sometimes disappears from view
In an adventurer mode game, there's a few squares where I can stand which causes the symbol for a downwards slope to disappear, as if the square had never been seen, but "l"ooking at the blank square shows "clay loam Downward Slope".
1) Download and play http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=2107 [^]
2) Seven squares to the east is a dark red (clay loam) downward slope.
3) Step one square to the east and it will disappear. Step one square west back to the starting point and it will re-appear.
4) Step one square west of the starting point and it will also disappear (though not necessarily if it's your first move after re-loading the game).

I will have a look at it. I have experienced some weirdness with the adventurer line of sight, though I am not sure if this is what is going on here.

Most likely, downward slopes only show up if your adventurer has line of sight to the upward slope 1 Z-level below them - if you're far enough away, you can't actually see the ramp itself, so this one might be by design.

The trick Quietust, is that moving to the east(which is directly toward it) from the starting tile reduces the distance from the ramp such that he can't see it. But moving to the west from the starting tile increases the distance from the ramp such that he can't see it. If it were a line of sight problem on the ramp up we would not expect moving toward it to matter.

Furthermore, the down ramp tile it doesn't gray over like it should if you didn't have line of sight anymore, it blacks out like it has yet to be discovered.

Yeah, this is probably two issues in one:
1) the inconsistent LOS calculations
2) the display replaces down ramps you've already seen with black space, which is too dumb to be intentional

Hmm, I've noticed this sometimes in the arena mode. It also happens with the downward slopes in magma.
