0001692: Ruined/abandoned towns can have buildings made of cavern wood
May not be a bug, but I just embarked on a ruined human settlement and all partial houses in it are made out of blood thorn, which seems pretty illogical for humans.

Please check in Legends to see whether the civ/site was conquered by goblins at some point. I think goblins would have access to blood thorn.

It seems not. The history ends with about 5 pages of megabeasts stealing miscellania, so I guess all humans were exterminated before then, but no mention of goblins.

Why would goblins have access to a cavern depth 3 wood?

^^^ I don't know what the cavern depth limit is for worldgen material access -- is it an entity tag or something? Oh, it looks like they don't have the INDOOR_WOOD tag. Sounds like they weren't involved here anyway, though... dunno what's going on here.

Does it reproduce if you export the world params from Legends and regenerate the world?

I ran into a ruined tunnel tube town in one world. Smashed up pink buildings everywhere. The site leader and apparent only surviving member was a demon. It was all a bit surreal.

As one who like to embark on ruined human sites, I can say that I have seen this as well on multiple different worlds in both modded and un-modded games. It seems that when one goes to an abandoned site the wood that the place is made of is randomly selected without any regard given to whether or not the original builders of the site had access to the wood in question.

This will most likely become obsolete in the future when raw goods such as logs are traded (thereby allowing humans to build with underground trees), depending on what cavern depth are available to the trade partners.

However, it is not currently the case as of 12/10/2011:

"Right now, you can't find any raw materials in the towns and villages (stone, bone stockpiles, etc.)..."

Here's one in 40.19 that doesn't QUITE fit the bug description as the hamlet isn't abandoned and otherwise doesn't look ruined to me, however, it is under the control of a criminal gang (which my adventurer is a member of).

The history behind this one is a bit complicated, the criminal gang that controls it is in fact, the last vestige of a dead dwarven civ (I think I'm the only dwarf left in the civ). In the history of the town, the last historical entry is 99 years prior, when a dwarf settled there and founded the criminal group. Not sure why there aren't any entries from year 201 until 300.

I've noticed something. The knives that any residents in an abandoned town won't be metal, but they are instead some random rock. I also see one corpse with a pouch made from vault guardian leather.

40.19: I checked the other buildings and they seem normal, theres also another NPC in the keep tower to the west with a sard knife. Not sure if this is the same bug actually.
