0002273: Cave fish named as "angelshark" or "blue shark" in Stocks group name
New fort on 0.31.06, Mayday pack (if it matters)
z->stocks
"fish" shows None in the 1st column, red 5 in 2nd column, angelshark[5] in 3rd column
hit tab, now shows "({cave lobster[5]}) F" -- not matching

I figure the cave lobster is more accurate given it is in the underground "x people" area.

Not a big deal here, though if similar happened in other categories it could get annoying.

I've encountered this too. My stocks screen listed some type of shark, but when I zoomed it was nowhere to be seen. I'll upload a save next time it happens, if that will help.

I had this happen as well, i had 3 [5] cave lobster units from embark. when they are combined in the stocks screen they show up as 'Angelshark [15]'. When i press tab they show up as cave lobsters though...

I'm using version 31.12

0003897 suggests that this may also be happening with the Remains category.

Yes this is happening too. I think this has to do with the fish (and remains) being located in unexplored territory so it may be related to those bugs too.

Confirmed in 31.18

Edit: When I have time I will try digging down to where it zooms to to see what I find. I think there may be a subteranean civ down there not properly hidden.

The fact that they're misnamed likely has nothing to do with their location within the fortress but with the creature type - items that come from vermin are being mislabeled as coming from large creatures.

Well I had a theory that it might be linked to a failed attempt at hiding items that shouldn't be known to the player. If I dig down and find out that the items are named correctly once I see them then my theory may be founded.

This should be resolved for next time.
