0002292: Kaolinite butchershop composed of blank red tiles
The foreground and background colors match when building a butcher's shop out of Kaolinite (presumably other red building materials, as well). I do not recall if this happened in earlier versions, but I was expecting the tiles to be black on red, or something similar.
1) Mine a section of kaolinite/other red stone.
2) Order construction of butcher shop from red stone.

This happens whenever the butcher's shop is kaolinite/bauxite/coated in blood.

assuming your issue is because of a coating of blood and or other spatter than it is already covered in other reports.

I think the color changes are intended behavior, for the most part. However it does some wonky things.

0000167 -- spatter on buildings sometimes results in an empty black tile.

0000357 -- spatter changes the color of (inverted image) buildings that are not built yet.

0000322 -- farm plants are always brown.

No docZub, this refers to the fact that butcher shops made out of a dark red material will appear as solid dark red squares, even if uncontaminated. Try building one out of bauxite or kaolinite and see for yourself.

humm... I know I've built things out of kaolinite before and didn't notice this behavior. I guess I'll keep an eye out.

Are these actually blank?

The 'text' part of the butcher shop is red already, so when you build them from red stone, it looks like the whole thing is a solid block of red.

It has been this way for awhile:

I don't think this is related to the spatter - it was simply the butcher's being built of red stone causing the shop to be solid red (text and background).

This can probably be unlinked from 0000167 and closed unless SilverEcho says it was from spatter.

I think I created that relationship just because they both deal with odd building color.

Humm, okay, I actually had to make a kaolinite butchers shop right next to a chalk one to compare and see what you're talking about.

I have a custom tileset which reduces the problem some, I can still see the red on red symbols.

Maybe there should be an exception that recognizes when you get a red on red (or other combinations) and makes the text a different color perhaps.

Can confirm still present for 0.40.22.

Just build a Kaolinite butcher shop to a wood one and you will see the difference.
