0000233: Crash with general "encountered problem" error involving military units.
At least I think that's why it crashed. Maybe something to do with them switching between civilian and military. Here's what the gamelog.txt has for the last few lines:

To resolve crash temporarily, open military menu and replace the militia commander with another dwarf.

No idea. I'm not entirely sure why it crashed. I assume it had something to do with me figuring out how to work the military with the barracks and everything. Or it could have been that elephant or liaison bleeding to death(I never actually noticed this until I read the log). I probably should have set autosave up but since I didn't the save is long gone so there's no way to reproduce it.

I've had the same problem, along with several issues with the military. I, however, have a save file. To reproduce from this file, all you need to do is load it, unpause, and then wait for ~thirty seconds.

I think it may have to do with the following last lines in my error log that keep reappearing:

Monitoring my FPS + errorlog, it looks like the FPS stays constant at about 80-90, then freezes for a bit and dips down to 30 and back up to normal a second or two later, dumping several lines into the log. It does this three times; on the third, instead of returning to normal, it crashes. Will attempt to reproduce on another version, though my only other machine is running linux+WINE.

Almost forgot to mention that I was having random crashes in the military/squad screens while copy/pasting orders, adding people to squads, etc, and this happened right after I finished mucking with them.

If I read your error notes correctly then it may have something to do with going to and from waypoints(notes or whatever they're called now), possibly related to failed pathfinding. In my first fort I had some waypoints set up and they were scheduled to go to them on certain months. I can't remember if I had any waypoints on my second fort.

But I'm thinking it does have something to do with the pathfinding. They get some sort of task and they fail to do it because they can't find the path and the game can't handle it for some reason. So instead of spitting out "canceled task" or whatever it crashes.

Just an update that I did get another random crash in .03 but I have no idea if it was related to the military or not. But like the others it was only after I had a military that the crash occurred. I loaded a previous save, did pretty much the exact same thing and couldn't reproduce the crash.

Huh!

This is another crash that can be resolved by removing the militia commander from his squad. I'll link this up as needed...

The weird framerate issues don't appear to stop after the crash stops, though. Probably pathfinding related as mentioned earlier.

Yeah, this one is the squad info disconnect as well. Patched up for 0.31.07, still working on root cause.
