Technically, it's not a *job* cancellation - it's a *designation* cancellation.

Yup. It may sound like a technicality, but it's completely intended behavior. However, you can change how this announcement works by editing /data/init/announcements.txt, specifically this line:

[DIG_CANCEL_DAMP:A_D:D_D:P:R]

You can remove the P and R to disable pausing and recentering. If you don't want to see the announcement at all, remove D_D as well.
