0000387: Search feature missing F9 Abort on Manager New Job Menu
Unable to search for items with a space in their name in manager new job screen when space is set to exit menu. 40d had F9 Abort as an option on this menu.
To reproduce:
1-Set the spacebar as the key to exit a menu (on title screen, key bindings)
j (job list)
m (manager)
q (new job)
Start typing: rock coffer

When you hit the space between rock and coffer, you will exit the menu.

I realize escape is set to be the menu escape but I absolutely hate that setup. Leaving a menu is something done many, many times while playing DF and the spacebar should remain an option.

Better yet is when you type "weapon rack" - not only it closes the screen but it also cancels a job order so quick you don't know what it was :)

So, yeah, have the same problem. On the other hand, this is a question of interface consistency - i like that now you always use the same key for the same function. You can't really map it to F9 in this screen, because then that would be a nonsensical inconsistency for people using ESC as the cancellation key.

By the way, what would happen if I map the cancellation key to for example "t"? Won't I be able to cut trees? I suppose so. So perhaps this is not a bug, it's just a consequence of bad key mapping on the user's part.
