Summary0003899: Non-Bone Artifact Missing Components
Description One of my dwarves entered a strange mood and commandeered a Jeweler's workshop. He proceeded to ask for several cut gems first, then a few bars of metal, then some various other items.

 I forbade certain gems initially to only give him access to blue garnets, then forbade all metal except platinum, while the rest of the items I just let him choose from the gamut.

He grabbed the blue garnets, and the platinum bars, then crafted a blue garnet chain. Checking the item description, the platinum was not used in the artifact, and was not reflected in the value of the item, but the bars are gone.
Steps To ReproduceHaven't had a chance to retry, but its easy to repro:

Forbid items as the dwarf walks to retrieve them, unforbid the items after he has deposited the item at the workshop. Rinse, repeat.

Might you have accidentally forbidden/unforbidden the platinum bars after the dwarf began construction but before the artifact was completed?

If he had, shouldn't that have driven the dwarf mad. In the past it did.

No, I didn't forbid them after the construction started, actually I unforbade all the gems and metal after the construction started, as there wasn't a reason to keep them that way at the moment.

In fact, all of the other ingredients showed up on the item other than the platinum. There is bone in the construction of the artifact, but it isn't a bone artifact. I don't think that would affect the artifact, correct?
