0004115: Dwarves eat in whatever chair seems convenient, then complain about a lack of dining tables
I have a beautiful designated public dining room with plenty of free tables and chairs. I also have a few chairs scattered about so that my hard-working dwarves may put up their feet and relax occasionally (not that I'm sure they're capable of such a thing, but that isn't really relevant to the bug).

Despite there being many open tables and chairs in the dining room, dwarves will frequently use a lone chair outside the dining room for eating, then complain about the perceived lack of dining tables.
- Build adjacent pairs of tables and chairs.
- Designate the surrounding area as a dining room from one of the tables, assigned to nobody.
- Build chairs elsewhere, without the adjacent tables.
- Provide food that's nearer to the non-dining-room chairs (unknown if this qualification is requisite, but this was the arrangement in the environment under which I observed the bug).

Effect:
- Dwarf with no complaints will eventually bring food to a non-dining-room chair.
- Dwarf eats at the chair.
- Dwarf leaves with a new complaint about the lack of dining tables.
May be related to 0002137 in some way, but this bug manifests regardless of the dining room's "Meeting Hall" designation.

Chairs aren't designed/coded to be used without tables.

Not that that isn't an issue. Replace your chairs with statues, it'll make everyone happier.

Are these on-duty dwarves? Civilians? How far away is the food from the dining hall? I have food <10 paces away and all my dwarves pick up food and eat in the royal dining room.

I'm getting this too - My dwarves all seem to ignore the dining room as a meeting room, as well as eating food out of their lap right next to the table...

seems that all functions of tables are ignored. Happened suddenly without any cues as far as I can tell.

the thing is dwarfs tend to use own rooms or unused ones (in the hopes to make them their own)
this is particuallary for the dormitory and assigning bedrooms (they take the nearest free bed, ist it a room they claim it)

but for dining hall of course it bugs more :/
