0005118: Can reveal hell by designating across z-levels which include eerie glowing pits
When designating up/down stairs to be built to the bottom of the map, the portion of hell immediately surrounding the bottom of the to-be stairs is revealed. (No horrifying screams or other hell-breach notification)

This poses no problems or impact on the current save, however, if the fortress is later reclaimed, the horrifying scream notification is given, and the demons are released. This reveals more of hell, as well as the adamantite tubes -- which are still entirely sealed.

(A good way to scout out adamantite tubes for sure)

1. Embark anywhere
2. Designate up/down stairs from surface to very bottom of map using the new across-z-level designation system.
3. (Small portion of hell revealed here)
4. Abandon fortress
5. Reclaim fortress
6. (More of hell is revealed, horrifying screams, demons released, and adamantite tubes revealed)

It seems to be specifically eerie glowing pits (as reported in 0005141), and doesn't require you to dig down from the top of the map or make a multi-level designation... just drop down to the bottom level and designate the whole level with anything that affects rock (dig, channel, stairs). Eerie glowing pits, and the layer of slade surrounding them, will be instantly revealed. If you only make the designation on the slade and NOT actually on the EGP--as is likely if you only try it with a 3x3 designation or something--the pits will sometimes not be revealed.

I'm assuming the central problem is the buggy revealing of the EGPs, not the subsequent hell-activated-on-reclaim. The initial revealing of the pits does not activate hell, just as originally reported.

I can't get this to happen in any of the ways described. A save pre-reveal would help, since it might only be certain maps overall. Knowing the operating system might also be important.

I noticed that starting a new multi-z-level "dig stairs" designation at the surface and taking it down to the bottom revealed parts of hell. This was in the initial VDay release, and it happened on two different maps, but I don't have a save, sorry.

I have a partial pre-reveal save. I have designated down the center to reveal a small square, but much of the pits are not yet revealed.

If you designate the bottom layer to dig, then the rest of the pits are revealed.

OS is windows. It has the phobeus tileset installed and I haven't the faintest how to get it back to default so sorry about that.

I've uploaded a save that exhibits the issue at each step. OS is Win7.

Thanks for the saves! This should be fixed now.
