0005969: Non-wagon merchants still arrive after "Their wagons have bypassed your inaccessible site"
So apparently, in my Fortress, I wasn't looking at the height of my embark area, and my region is deemed "Inaccessible by Caravans" by the game.

However, whenever I get a caravan from my Dwarven civilization, I get the message:

"The outpost liason Alath Onulartob from Ralmestthos has arrived."
"A caravan from Ralmestthos has arrived."

"Their wagons have bypassed your inaccessible site."

However, when I look on the screen, there are the wagons and the diplomat, heading across my brook to get to my Fortress. After they arrive, they get to my Trade Depot and unload. How is this possible if the site was deemed inaccessible, and the message said they weren't supposed to be there?
-Choose a site that is inaccessible by Wagons (Extreme Mountains work best, at least in my tries)
-I haven't proven this yet, but so far it seems that Brooks and their functions as "walkable rivers" seem to affect this also.
-Wait around for the first dwarven caravan to come. You will get this.

When it says "Their wagons have bypassed your inaccessible site", it only means that their wagons have bypassed your inaccessible site. The above savegame does not contain any wagons, only a yak and a water buffalo.

All caravans bring pack animals (e.g. donkeys and mules), though Humans and Dwarves also bring wagons (large brown box-shaped "creatures" driven by a merchant and 2 horses - see http://mkv25.net/dfma/movie-2404-caravanwagons [^] for an example) with significantly higher trade capacity, but only if they can find an appropriate 3-tile wide path to your depot. In this case, there is a boulder blocking the way.
