Summary0006121: dwarves and tame animals being caught in traps
Descriptioni have been noticing a big trend lately in my fortresses, every so often i will have a cat, dog, or dwarf sitting in a cage in my animal stockpile, with no job (caged) as their job, i have also had a alert saying "dorfy mc'dorf" was killed by a weapon trap. i did see one time during an ambush a goblin was killed by one of my marsdwarves and a mechanic ran outside to pickup equipment, he was shot by a bolt from a goblin and soon as he stepped on the weapon trap he was sliced and diced
Steps To Reproducehave a 1 tile walkway over weapon traps and cage traps eventually someone will get captured or killed

Did he go unconscious over the trap? That's been known to activate them, no matter what the creature is.

yea after reading more into this on site ive noticed a trend with unconscious and falling into traps, i dont care too much with the dwarves getting caught in cages but the weapon traps are what im worried about

I'll mark this as a duplicate of 0001168 then. If you find evidence that dwarves or tame animals trigger traps without going unconscious (ideally a save just before triggering the trap), please reopen this report.
