Game crashes after creating and accepting the world
1. Launch game in PRINT_MODE: TEXT (unsure if relevant)
2. Create new world! World size: medium, History: medium, number of civilizations: medium, number of sites: medium, number of beasts: medium, natural savagery: medium, mineral occurence: Frequent
3. Accept the world
4. terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::length_error'

OS X 10.9.3 user here. I cannot reproduce your problem, it's apparently only linux-specific.

I did the same settings you had (beginning from step 2, not sure how to do step 1), stopped at 75 years or so, accepted the world and it saved completely normally. It is platform-specific, I think.

I've generated 2 worlds successfully in Linux (Debian wheezy), so it probably depends on the exact worldgen parameters AND the random seeds.

0.40.02 appears to have fixed this.
