0007901: Military dwarf develops temporary immunity to GCS webs
I captured a GCS and constructed a silk farm. Since a wild GCS doesn't seem interested in webbing bait animals, I drafted a dwarf to patrol in front of the spider. Originally, the dwarf would step in front of the spider and be immediately and permanently stuck in place (I had to use a lever-operated hatch to free him).

At one point, I forgot he was stuck and by the time I remembered he was pacing back and forth in front of the spider, hungry, thirsty, and tired. The GCS webs no longer affected him--he can walk through tiles containing webs, and even a direct blast at short range doesn't even slow him down. He does not have the weaving labor enabled, nor any skill in weaving. He does have legendary discipline, observer, fighter, and swordsdwarf, along with normal military skills.

I sent in my militia commander and confirmed that the webs are still quite sticky.
Quietust suggested in 0006852 that the 'sleepwalking' bug might apply to webbed creatures as well, however the dwarf does not appear abnormal at all, and he has maintained his immunity for an in-game year.

Does it reproduce in the arena? Might be connected to Agility or Dodging.

I'm not sure how I would reproduce this in the arena. How can I create fortifications and assign patrol routes?

I checked in Therapist and his agility and dodging values are lower than my militia commander's (who is still affected by webs). In fact, it looks like all of his skills are equivalent to or lower than the commander's (except swordsdwarf).

Anyway, I experimented a little more. My web-immune dwarf still disturbs webs (webs are removed from the tile, unlike the "web-immunity" granted by the "collect webs" job), but he does not trigger traps (which he likely would do if this was related to 0006852). He is also unaffected by forgotten beast webs, and even webbed traps don't trigger on him.

Does your dwarf appear with a white background when it steps on a thick web (thin webs will also be destroyed but do not impede movement)?

No; he just marches through them like they aren't even there.

Regarding the arena: you can modify the layout to get fortifications (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Object_testing_arena#Modifying_the_Arena_layout [^]), and you can walk manually instead of patrolling. A dwarf with identical skills and attributes would be a good start. Observer might matter.

He eventually lost his immunity; he's now being webbed proper again.
