Summary0008167: Goblin Bowman turned Swordsman turned Swordmaster in a matter of moments.
DescriptionI'm not particularly sure how it happened, but the goblin that is currently a swordmaster in the save provided (it was a swordsman in the previous saved I uploaded today) has turned into a swordmaster even though it has only a bow.

Using a bow as a melee weapon trains the Swordsman skill (just like a crossbow trains Hammerman).

How fast is "a matter of moments"? What kind of creatures was the goblin fighting against, and how many of them?

If you check one of the previous saves I had you can watch the progression, I think. Anyways none of my dwarves were attacking it and it was just failing to attack my dwarves. It Went from what I imagine was around novice to master in roughly 3 minutes.

The goblin was basically "live training" against helpless dwarves (0008250) using a blunt wooden sword; it's not too surprising that it gained significant sword skills in a short time. With 0008250 fixed a similar training regime would prove fatal for the aspiring swordgoblin.
