Summary0008332: Game not loading, missing Index file?
DescriptionAlright, I've been playing DF for a while now but it's been at least a year since I've played. I tried downloading the new version of the game and it extracts fine but when I try to play it says main index files missing/corrupted, make sure it is in the Data folder. It is in there and I've tried downloading multiple times after deleting and even copying the files but nothing, I get the same error. The only time it seems to open is when I'm in the zip folder and double click the exe. Any ideas on how to fix this?

To what location on your hard drive are you unzipping the files? What OS are you using?

I am unzipping them to a folder on my desktop which I have done in the past on multiple occasions and have them work. And I am using windows 7.

Alright I seem to have fixed this.... I decided that I should try to unzip it to my documents folder and it works.... I apologize for wasting your time, my good sir and I thank you for attempting to help me. I still don't understand why it wouldn't work the first time.
