0008905: crash from fast travel

Description

I kept getting crashes on the fast travel screen while trying to approach one asterisk. After trying to tiptoe up to it to see if it would load properly, I now have a save with my character positioned over the crash-prone tile, but unable to take any action without the game crashing. I can't stop, I can't move, I can't rest. I've tried running with a vanilla installation of 40_24, but it made no difference.

The character afflicted with that curse was killed >700 years before in a location across a sea from my character's current location.
