0009618: Dwarf giving birth on cage trap triggers it
I received a message that my dwarf had given birth, and a few seconds later noticed that my cage trap was unloaded and a dwarf was dragging away a cage. I quickly hopped in look to check what kind of creature I had caught only to find that it was the new mother and her poor child. My gut tells me it's something to do with the child not immediately registering as a resident of the fortress.

It's pretty non-consequential, if not somewhat amusing, but if the bugs extends to other traps or even pressure plates, the result could be much more catastrophic.
(Presumably)
1. Confine a couple to a section completely covered with traps.
2. Wait for child.
Can provide screen of caged family if necessary.

It's probably not that the child isn't considered a resident. Residents can be captured in cage traps if they dodge into them, fall asleep in them, or are webbed on them. My guess would be that you've discovered another "prone" case where dwarves can be captured despite being residents.

Duplicate/child of 0001168.
