0009878: Human traders bring forest fires
This has happened every single time I've seen the human caravan enter the map, sometimes the dwarves do too, but that's not as frequent.
It seems as if one of the human's pack animals emits some smoke or perhaps actual fire, which then soon spreads to the entire grassland and trees, though the trades themselves manage to 'outrun' it. On occasion they also cause some sort of a fire to break out inside the trade depot too, or spread a large amount of smoke, and depending on where the depot is located, this can lead to another fire.
Have a trade depot, wait for the human caravan to arrive, in an area with grass.
The only times this has not happened is when the d_init file has TEMPERATURE:NO for the setting, obviously because nothing heats up, therefore it does not ignite, and when I embark into a desert-only area (of course, then they smoke in the depot)

Now that I turned Temperature back on, and I've been more carefully watching it, it seems it happens with Dwarf and Human traders arriving.

Additionally, I created a special race for myself, with a lot of the code for them based on humans and dwarves for ENTITY stuff, and both times they arrived to trade, they also brought fires.
Nothing I modified for my race should be reacting with fire like that, and it's been happening long before I made my own race, so I can make a reasonable assumption that they're not the cause.

I can guess that it might have something to do with the merchant tokens in the entity file.

Quick edit: I had also accidentally blocked off wagons from arriving for one caravan, but I actually saw one of the pack animals start the fire, and even took some wounds. I've seen a yak, a camel, and a horse all cause the fires somehow, but they've never been !!pack animals!!.

I looked over the other one, but I've never seen magma in a bag for the traders, or at least, I never see any magma, and I can confirm that the Elves have not caused the fire to occur.
Additionally, this has occurred on every world I've made, both before and after I made any personal mods. Like Toady One says on the other, a broken reaction (one added to an already generated world) does make magma, but again, it happened even on worlds when I hadn't touched to raws or anything.

Either way, it's not a huge issue, and I don't trade nearly as much as I maybe should, so I can probably mostly ignore it on my game, I just wanted to bring attention to it.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate for now. If we can get reproduction of it, a save, or other corroboration, we can reopen it if it turns out to be materially different than 0009267.
