Summary | 0010040: Lye left over at smelters after buckets are melted.
Description | I had apparently melted down metal buckets containing lye and smelters now have lye without containers in them. Checked on some of the smelters with the t key and found lye there. Could be related to the lye-in-the-bucket not being used bug that has now been corrected, or this could be new and may be applicable with any other liquid.
Steps To Reproduce | Melt metal buckets with contents. Strangely, this did not work before, so it is strange that I was able to do this at all.

I've also had this happen with filled flasks that had been used by my military before I told them not to carry food & drink, so my smelter has Dwarven Wine [3]. Looking at the "melt item" list on the wiki for containers that can be made of metal, Jugs, Pots, and Barrels should still be tested. There is also a possible edge case for powders stored in Adamantine bags, but since I've never fiddled with the circus, I don't know if such a bag could be melted. [edited to add] I can confirm that this behavior extends to Jugs, Pots, and Barrels made of metal; all of my testing was done in vanilla 43.05. My guess is that there is a missing check preventing full containers from being melted, or a missing check to turn uncontained liquids into contaminants. |
