Summary0011295: Walled-off slow aquifers continue to flood
DescriptionA slow aquifer walled off with wood log walls will continue to flood when the room is created by channels. I haven't had this problem when digging up/down stairs through an aquifer and building walls around them. It seems like the water spawns from the open space hole in the ceiling where the channel was dug, as mist will spawn from the center of the room.

There is no murky pool or river present where the channel was dug, just an aquifer. It's also a very hot climate, so there is no ice melting.

This is making is very difficult to dig rooms into a slow aquifer.
Steps To ReproduceDig a layer of channels into a slow aquifer layer and wall it off. Then dig another layer of channels into the z-level below that. Water should spawn from the aquifer from the open space above the floor..

Can you provide a save? In the map I'm playing now, I channeled a stairwell (3-wide, for wagons) straight through a light aquifer, and it no longer floods. https://i.imgur.com/bYW9gZF.png [^]

Water also spawns in the tiles directly below unmined aquifer tiles. If that doesn't explain the mystery water, please upload a save demonstrating the problem to DFFD ( http://dffd.bay12games.com/ [^] ) and post a link here. Thanks!

It's definitely water spawning from aquifer tiles on soil above the room. The room that I had dug out was shaped like an inverted pyramid. Once I got rid of the soil above the room completely it stopped draining into the room. Woops.
