|Summary||0001727: Outpost Liaison arrived, and then decided to chase a groundhog.|
|Description||My first caravan arrived and are trading at the depot. But the Outpost Liaison got distracted by a groundhog before she reached the fort and chased it around on the surface. My Expedition leader was asleep at the time, but I doubt that had anything to do with it.|
She had no military equipment. Eventually she caught up with it and spend the next few days wrestling it into submission. And then she started chasing another groundhog!
|Steps To Reproduce||I'm not sure how to set about reproducing this except for a painstaking trial-and-error waiting for the caravan to show up and hoping it manifests itself again.|
|Additional Information||Finally she caught the beast at the edge of the map and it managed to knock her over for long enough to escape out of the region. Luckily she decided not to take on the Cougar that arrived next.|

Were the groundhogs undead (skeletal/zombie)?

Nope. Normal kind. She did manage to kill the first groundhog.
This sounds like an old bug - see http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=41965 [^] and http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=54600 [^]
This sounds almost like the same thing - you can confirm it by going into Legends mode at some point and looking up your liaison's history.
|Yeah, it would be helpful if you wrote down the liaison's name, backed up your save, abandoned your fortress, looked up the liaison in Legends, and checked their previous professions.|

Liaisons can have jobs now. I once had a speardwarf liaison in full plate armor who liked to hunt elephants on my map.

I've had liaisons with jobs in DF2010, but that wasn't the case this time.
Zulban Gemcharm was a dwarf.
In 1, Zulban married Rovod Foldpaint.
In 1, Zulban settled in Fountainuttered.
In 1, Zulban became the outpost liaison of The Whip of Wandering.
[list of husband, god, eight sons, 1 daughter]
The Whip of Wandering (member)
The Polished Craft (member)
The Whip of Wandering (outpost liaison)
One groundhog in Keyconjured
--- also ---
In the early spring of 31, the Merchant of Diamond of the Whip of Wandering founded Keyconjured.
It's a pocket region.
|This seems like it would have been fixed (or at least changed) in v0.40. If anyone can reproduce this in v0.40+, please upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and PM me or another manager (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=63640.0 [^]) on the forums to reopen this report.|
