Everyone has had tons of experience to the contrary -- see 0000296.

Snow melts. Did the season change recently?

Does this reproduce at all?

I didn't try reloading the save as it was to my benefit that it'd all cleaned up, but it's not happened since between sessions. The season change sounds like a reasonable explanation as I do have seasonal autosaves going - although I always have done and haven't noticed anything as stark as this before, especially with blood. It looked like a totally new fort, aside from the corpses dotted around.

Okay, I'll mark it "unable to reproduce" for now. Reopen this if it shows up again.
