The arsenal dwarf portion is deprecated as of 0.31.10. |

still in 34.06 - broker prefers to move goods to depot rather than trade |

I've not had this problem with the trading job lately, in fact I have observed the broker going for the depot quite promptly, unless he is sleeping, eating or similar. However the "hold meeting" job still seems to be possible only if the dwarf has absolutely nothing else to do. |

Can't you just (u)nit view him/her, (p)reference, (l)abor, and deselect all hauling jobs? Incidentally, I DID find a problem with my mayor and baron refusing to meet with the liaison as both were among my best military dwarves. By the time I was done screwing around with trying to make the squads inactive and do other measures...I had at least two, if not three liaisons/diplomats waiting. Once I removed them from the squad, the meetings all took over and got done within twenty minutes. |

"Can't you just (u)nit view him/her, (p)reference, (l)abor, and deselect all hauling jobs?" no, due to 0000791: Even with hauling labors off, dwarves continue to haul to trade depot and harvest food |

For the record, hasn't the game always been this way? |

still in 34.11 - broker prefers to move goods to depot rather than trade (broker requested, but after bringing something to depot broker instead of staying there will go for the next one. Combined with 0000791: Even with hauling labors off, dwarves continue to haul to trade depot and harvest food is is a serious problem) - save with bring - drink - bring cycle for broker: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=6452 [^] |

In my observations there are no job priorities whatsoever except for generic distaste for all hospital jobs. Otherwise jobs are done in first idle dwarf - last possible job basis, subject to personal bias for procrastination and a few other things. Some jobs are also invisible on the list, in particular designation jobs like mining and woodcutting and berry-picking. I suspect this leads into the broker hauling situation as well, depending on the order of jobs issued when player exits the q-depot screen. Presumably 'trade at depot' gets issued first and thus executed last, giving plenty of time for additional jobs to pop up onto the list like gathering plants and watering socks and doing some personal drills and then it's naptime and so on. BTW, this is why planters plant one plot at a time - there's one plant seeds job per plot existing at a time, and once planter thinks for the next job to do the job to plant the next seed on the same plot is newest. |

That's interesting. I've also noticed that the health care jobs take a low priority. The "recover wounded" must be near the very bottom. This also explains why a "repeat" job gets done without distraction compared to a queue with ten of the same item. |

As of 0.40.20+, my trader is pretty good about getting to the depot. |
