Summary0006356: Miners mine to exclusion of drinking
DescriptionI had designated a large area to be mined out, and then let my miners go at it. I was paying attention enough to note that my miners were thirsty, but thought nothing of it. For too long. Suddenly I got a message "(insertname), miner has died of thirst". I checked, and sure enough, there's the corpse, right next to the other miner who is not yet dead but very thirsty and very unhappy. I have booze present, so I thought maybe it was the stairs, because I am using a different setup than usual... all I did, however, was remove the dig designation and the dwarf suddenly ran for the booze stockpile, down the stairs as appropriate - so it wasn't the stair setup - and died of thirst on the floor with the booze stockpile.
Steps To ReproduceI am reporting it now despite not reproducing it yet, but presumably the method should be easy:
Designate a large area to be mined out, such that the miners will die of thirst long before the area is completed unless they drink. Mine didn't drink - the task seems to have been of lower priority compared to 'dig'.

Oh, yes, I just remembered: there WERE 'give water' cancellations (because I have no water) but I couldn't tell where they were from because no dwarves seemed to be injured. In hindsight, it was probably the miners dying of thirst.

Were these dwarves ever in the military or the hospital?
