Summary0006634: Buggy adventure mode vampire
DescriptionI got sent to kill a vampire residing in a mead hall, turns out it was the lady in charge.
When I accused her of being a vampire she did the usual "Blah, I've been found out, I have to kill you now" thing but she won't move from the spot she was standing on and she hasn't done anything to attack me or anyone else. Even after cutting her arms off and sending her into a panic she refuses to move from that spot, despite shouting about how scared she is and begging me to stop.
The other NPCs in the room also haven't tried to fight her like they would have in the last version, and the villagers I talked to while looking for her kept telling me stories about her attacking cavern monsters she presumably detected with her blood sense, a bug I thought you said was fixed.

In order to check out fortress vampires while updating dfhack, I turned some booze into historic vampire blood and made one of the dwarves drink it. As soon as it became a vampire, it started running around in terror, until I killed all dangerous cavern creatures.

Vampires are still very bugged. They keep ambushing adventurers and then run. Very annoying.

This bug is about vampires that do nothing, but 0006803 was about vampires that avoided conflict, so I will let this note here instead of opening another report.

The problem: vampires ambush you every time you meet at the travel map, but always run.

thvaz : Can it have relationship with your adventurer's skill levels? I also have the same problem about getting ambushed but then they flee in fear of getting killed...

probably not, it was a demigod adventurer but he had just started to wander.

Update: in 0.44.02 I created a peasant adventurer. Just wandering by and a vampire dwarf ambush him and the adventurer is slaughtered.

I then created a demigod adventurer in the same hamlet and tracked the vampire to get a revenge. The vampire didn't even try to fight, he would run as fast as he could saying "I must withdraw!". Note that I wasn't equipped in heavy gear, just with with the initial one and I hadn't any kind of reputation.
