Summary0008103: Monarch arrives, is goblin, entourage become civilians and drop weapons on spawning
DescriptionExactly what it says. On spawning, the entourage becomes lye makers, engravers, peasants, etc, drops their weapons, and goes to the meeting hall. This is hardly protective of the king at all.
Steps To ReproduceBecome a mountainhome.
Additional InformationIt would probably be best if they are just set to follow the king until the king makes it to the meeting hall, and then they do whatever. Perhaps a new task? It might be the "New Arrival" changes that did it, I don't know.

Would 0004942 cover this? Does the monarch show up on the Nobles screen?

The monarch is a goblin. Over the course of my fortress I've gotten a ridiculous amount of news (literally ridiculous, 3-4 pages at full screen) about goblins taking over my civilization, so it's not really a surprise.

The monarch is listed as tame, but I can still view his z-screen and set job preferences, so that's good. I know that used to be a bug.

The monarch DOES show up on the nobles screen, so no, it's not a duplicate of 0004942. The dwarven entourage arrived as military but transformed into immigrants with the "New Arrivals" tag immediately afterwards.

I can provide a save if necessary, although it won't do much for you, as the entourage has already entered the map.

Thanks for the info. The save wouldn't hurt, just in case Toady has to examine the details of the world.

All right, uploading the save. Also, the king is apparently pasturable like any other animal. I guess that isn't fixed yet, so I'll be uploading the save in that bug report too, most likely.
