Summary0008934: Game spontenously crashed during fortress mode
DescriptionNo idea what caused it.

It was ~Mid winter, I was mining near a frozen river, excavating some rooms, moving lots of goods, chopping down trees and then the game crashed

Please check whether you are building constructions over tree parts. This seems to be the main reason for random crashes in this version.
If that's in fact what is causing your crash as well, it's a duplicate of 0008719 and you can continue the discussion in the original bug report as this one will be closed as a duplicate.
If that's not what is causing your crash, please upload a save file (if available) at http://dffd.bay12games.com/index.php [^] so others can have a look at the issue.

@sophie: Your save has a problematic minecart route with no stops (0009624). Removing that route allowed the game to continue normally.

Without additional detail, there isn't enough information here to investigate the original issue. Afghani84 is correct that 0008719 was a frequent cause of crashes back in v0.40.24. If anyone finds a reproducible crash in the current version, please log a new issue.
