Summary0001615: Immigriants have no skill in their job.
DescriptionJust got a wave of migrants which included a blacksmith(who had no metalworking skills; instead he was only novice persuader), a clothier(who has no clothesmakign skill; novice teacher only) and a trapper(no trapping skill; had basic armor/shield/hammer skills instead). It seems to me these guys should just be "Peasants", instead of having a fake profession, with the exception of the last one, who should maybe be called hammerdwarf.

So they were "designated" as the jobs you mentioned? (IE: Were their colours for, say, a blacksmith, without having any metalworking skills whatsoever?)

Can't have a hammerdwarf spawn on the edge of the map due to bugginess Toady reported in a Devlog.

Are you sure you aren't maybe disabling some of your skill views?

I have had a blue fisherdwarf appear, who had no fishing skills, but did have all metalworking skills. Today I had a yellow woodcutter dwarf appear with no woodcutting skills, but he had some sort of farming skills, brewing I think. This happens across all maps, and frequently. There is no pattern I can determine.

I know this is a silly, but I think Logical2u is right..

I think you've got one of the settings turned off. Scroll over one of your dwarves and hit 'b'. See if it doesn't come up. It really sounds like you just have your labor disabled.

Oh... huh. Yeah, it was that they were disabled. I didn't even know you could do that.

Delete please >.<

Haha. Glad that's cleared up.
