Summary | 0005087: Soldiers will not attack a vampire that is in-progress of sucking a sleeping dwarf dry
Description | So yeah, as the title states, when a vampire is in progress of sucking a sleeping dwarf dry in his own bedroom, if you send the military in at that moment, they will continue watching the vampire suck blood. Once the vampire is finished and the sleeping dwarf dies of blood loss, the military will rush to report of the found corpse + accuse the vampire dwarf of what he did.
Steps To Reproduce | Station military next to a vampire that is in progress of sucking blood in fortress mode

I would thought vampire caught red-handed by police/military force (non-civilians) would cease sucking and immediately become permamently hostile. This would be logical (yeah, I know, this is DF, but still). |

You know what they say: "Let sleeping dwarves die." *dodges tomato* |

I'd consider this a bug as well. If you see someone killing someone else, that's one thing... either one may be the bad guy. If you see someone feeding upon someone else though, you can be pretty sure it's a vampire and it's evil. Maybe a fort should be capable of setting local ethics when dealing with vampires and weres and stuff. I'd like to have them marked as an enemy and hunted til the ends of the earth, not locked up or slapped a few times and then forgiven! |
