Summary | 0010997: crash attempting to view units with "v" while paused |
Description | The game randomly crashed when I pressed "v" while paused. |
Steps To Reproduce | Unsure of reproducibility.
The game was paused, and a short while into a new, unsaved map.
I pressed "v" on a newly discovered cavern layer, intending to view things on it, and the game crashed immediately, losing all progress. |

And yet again. There's nothing useful in the logs, other than "Segmentation fault: 11" Good thing Toady added a crash handler to dump the game's memory for debugging /s |

Very few programs have built-in crash handlers, and there are reasons why adding one would be a lot of work (lack of debugging symbols, size of a full memory dump, etc.).
Anyway, I'm 99% certain this is due to https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/issues/1057. [^] However, if this happens in a world where you have never used DFHack at all, and in DF 0.44.12 or newer, please feel free to reopen this issue. |
