|0011805||Dwarf Fortress||World Generation -- General||public||2021-09-12 12:41||2021-11-03 20:35|
|Platform||MacBook Pro (M1, 2020)||OS||Big Sur||OS Version||11.2.3|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version|
|Summary||0011805: Game crashes in world generation when history is more than around 20 years|
|Description||I just installed 0.47.05 on my MacBook. I did the whole terminal thing executed at the beginning of this video:|
It worked, I got the game running. I had to change the [PRINT_MODE:2D] to [PRINT_MODE:STANDARD] to remove the white screen.
Once I began the creation of a new world, however, it would crash when generating history. This occurred both when I was messing around with general parameters (e.g. mineral occurrence, savagery, etc) and when I left them all on default Mediums/Sparse. I noticed that this crash was occurring roughly 20 years into history generation, so I changed it to the 5-year history generation, which fixed it, confirming the whole year-based crash.
|Steps To Reproduce||Download 0.47.05 for Mac|
Move the folder to a new location and rename it "dwarf fortress"
Open the "df" file (where it'll say something about not being able to run the .exe)
Go to a new terminal window execute the steps at the beginning of this video:
change the [PRINT_MODE:2D] to [PRINT_MODE:STANDARD]
Generate new world from the 125 year or greater start.
