DescriptionDunno if this is intended behavior of insane dwarves.but I doubt so.


After a goblin siege my fortress is experiencing a slow tantrum spiral (killed due to the siege: 1 military + around 3 civilian dwarves, killed by insanity berserks and other related things: around 15, with 2 insane dwarves probably dying soon)

One of the 2 insane dwarves is standing in my huge food storage room and has laid claim on every meal there is (thereby destroying the stacks and forcing my dwarves to hunt for vermin for food, despite the fact that there are 126 meals stored in the storage room.

I really doubt that this is intended behavior, even for insane dwarves and I assume it has something to do with the announcements I get periodically about:
"Fikod '0_4m_HerbRec' Usenlikot Cancels pickup equipment: Too insane"
(with Fikod being said insane dwarf)

Sounds like he picks the food up with the intention to eat but immediately drops it again because then he remembers that he is too insane to pickup the food (with the food, of course, now being his property)

Was he at some point assigned to wear a backpack and carry rations?

I assume so,
he is part of my useless Archers squadron,
so it can well be that he wanted to replenish his rations when he went insane
