0001664: Weapons stuck in an enemy's corpse become auto-forbidden even if a dwarf is still wielding the weapon
This seems to happen when fighting invaders. It seems like the standing order to forbid goblin items after they die is applied to weapons that are embedded in them at the time of death (or maybe those that have been earlier).

The dwarves continue carrying the weapons and killing things, though, so it isn't a huge problem.
Have a standing army with weapons that can get stuck.
Let them kill some invaders.
Check their inventory.

This sounds like a problem that existed back in 40d, where stuckins would be auto-forbidden (possibly being treated as if they were used ammo).

Yeah. that might be what's going on. I haven't had the presence of mind yet to test frame-by-frame during a siege.

I just ran accross this bug myself. Easy to find the forbidden items via sthe stocks menu.

I'm seeing this all the time in 0.31.12. It's not really an issue until they upgrade weapons and they leave their old forbidden stuff all over.

Is it possible to link this to the general equipment wonkiness report, so it can easily be found by Toady?

Stuck-ins get forbidden.

Change the standing orders for forbidden items to prevent this.

Still in .25

Military left their old, forbidden weapons laying around when they upgraded to a new one I made, causing some soldiers to not be able to pick them up and go into battle without a weapon.
