0002859: Weave thread cancellation: requires 15k rock thread
Got this interesting announcement:
"Urist McWeaver cancels Weave Thread into Cloth: Needs 15000 collected rock thread."

Got this exactly once then the weaver went back to weaving from regular thread.

This was on a Weave Cloth (Plant Thread) task.

Are you positive you didn't queue up a "Weave Metal Cloth" job by mistake?

Rock thread? Thats new (to me), but what Footkerchief said may be it.

Very confident it was Weave Cloth (Plant Thread).

FWIW on the relationship - it's not exactly the same issue; beyond the "rock thread", there was also plenty of pig tail thread and rope reed thread available in stockpile.

Yup, "related to" just means vaguely related in this case. It's mainly so your report doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

Felix, have you been doing any modding? Just a thought.

Vanilla 31.12, fresh install, no modding, no memory-hacking utilities, just vanilla DF.

Huh, just to eliminate one factor, did you have any dug out adamantine?

Even if there was adamantine, its done at the forge (right? never actually proccessed adamantine), so its wierd that the message showed up.

If there's any way to tell, what type of thread had last been weaved into cloth when you got that message?

No adamantine dug out, rather new fort. edit: haven't come anywhere near adamantine so there's none exposed either.

Not 100% sure what type of thread - most likely pig tail thread though.

Were you using enter or the hotkey to queue up the jobs? If it's the latter, your finger might have slipped. You wouldn't have noticed - both jobs are displayed as "Weave Thread into Cloth".

Ducky - not inconceivable, I guess.

All righty, queued up some Weave Metal Cloth tasks. Got this exact message every time.

So, just attribute this one to accidentially using the netal cloth instead of normal cloth?

Sounds like a case closed to me.

I think there are also instances where the game uses the term "rock" for any inorganic material, including metals.

The 15000 is certainly not the intended number, though, so this is still buggy.
