0000330: Broker won't come to the depot
The appointed broker won't come to the depot to trade.
This happens whether or not only the broker or anyone may trade. Upon suspending all other jobs, the broker is listed as No Job and still won't come to the depot. Other non-broker dwarves trade successfully when anyone may trade.

I've never had problems getting my broker to trade?

Just got this.

I replace my broker with a more skilled migrant and not wanting to lose the traders, I disabled his hauling job, but now he's simply sitting next to the depot with the "No Job" status even though trader requested is on. (and only broker may trade is also on). I tried afterwards setting only broker and and off, but it didn't work. Finally I look through the jobs listing and it's just not on there. For some reason turning on broker requested didn't generate a job. So I turned it back off and back on again and it worked.

I have the save if you want it

EDIT: after some more tests it appears the circumstances are as follows:
*Trade Depot with traders is built
*Appointed broker is currently in a job or action (on break counts)
*You turn on "trader requested at depot"
*No "trade at depot" job is generated, thus he doesn't go

What appears to be happening is that the job is either automatically instantly canceled because the trader is busy, or perhaps is just not occurring in the first place, I'm not sure. A simple fix for us is to simply wait until the Broker has the "no job" listing and then turn off the "requested at depot" un pause, re-pause, turn on "requested at depot", and it will generate the job.

I am seeing something similar, however, disabling "Request Trader at Depot" and reenabling it is not fixing the problem for me. My broker just stands around with "No Job". I missed getting a save in time last time a caravan was here, but I'll be sure to grab a save from the next one.

I know that every time my broker is at the depot and then, on his own initiative, takes a break to sleep/eat/drink, he will *not* come back to the depot until the "trader requested" is toggled off and on at the depot. The job is being set to off or completed despite the fact that "trader requested" remains on.

EDIT: In fact, even if my broker has not yet come to the depot, but is playing those frustrating games brokers do right now (ANY job, if enabled, is preferred to trade at depot, and he'll go through them until you turn them all off -- at which time he'll go on his eating/drinking/sleeping binge), but he decides to eat/sleep/drink before coming, he seems to also not respect the "trader requested" toggle until it is turned off and back on.

And even then, if he's sitting with No Job on and then you do it, he'll find *something*, *anything* to do other than it, if he can. Thus, he's fine, just sitting there idling, but you toggle it, and he goes to eat or drink if slightly peckish.

It's very annoying, to be honest. I'll be glad when the trader glitches are fixed.

I am also having this problem however toggling the job on/off when he has or does not have a job doesn't fix it for me. And so far no other dwarves have traded successfully either.

It would be helpful to upload a save demonstrating this problem to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^]

Do any of you have a save that shows a broker not coming to the depot that can't be explained by other means (partying, etc.)?

I actually haven't seen this bug in any of the newer 0.34.x versions, and have switched to "allow anyone to trade" since I figured out that works as long as the broker has appraisal skill. I'll mess around and see if I can reproduce this in the current version, and if so will upload a save.

I reproduced it by using (r) on my broker on job screen to remove current task - save: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=6451 [^]

As a workaround, have you tried adding the broker to a burrow that includes only the Trade Depot? I sometimes have problems getting the broker to trade, but that seems to work (after they finish eating, drinking, and sleeping. Oh, and going on break).

Has seemed to me to be mostly an issue of trading/meeting/etc. having way too low priority for job assignment, not an actual bug.

I am also having this problem. The broker/trader refuses to go to the trade depot. I am unable to trade.

The error occurs in DF version 0.34.11.

Steps taken to work around this bug:

* I have cleared/off all labors from my Broker/Trader
* I have turned the "call broker to the trade depot" on and off again repeatedly
* I have removed the Broker from the trader role in the noble screen and then reassigned him back again
* I have created a burrow and assigned the Broker to that TradeDepot burrow repeatedly
* I have cancelled the repetitive jobs on the job screen (using 'r'), but the broker seems to take jobs despite no labors turned on (i.e. Fill Bag)

I have created a save game, and the broker is standing in the fortress spamming errors about unable to complete fill bag job, because of lack of access. I note the broker refuses to go to the TradeDepot burrow as well.
