Error logs don't help us very much. And setting your report to "private" doesn't help you much, either.

What was going on in the game when it crashed? How much memory was being used?

I was just mooching around looking for things to work with.....I'd gotten rather far at that point and neared my first million in wealth

I had selected my animal stockpile and was in the process of removing it because it wasn't needed at the time

there was a very large excess of materials on the map I guess that could of pulled it

having 13k of zinc ore in the freshly mined tunnels and having a cavern opened might also of done it.......but why I don't know

alright I just got another crash and this time I hadn't even bothered with mining the zinc ore

after breaching the cavern the game was starting to lag up a bit so I decided to save.....it crashed right in the middle of saving

Did it crash during the cleaning objects phase?

I am not sure....I don't excatly know......whenever I pull a save the entire game locks up and I can't excatly see what it's doing and when

I think the crash might of occured before getting to the clean objects....I don't know

all I know is whenever I save the entire game window freezes for around a 30secs-1min and doesn't show what it's doing....usually when it unfreezes then it'll show cleaning objects and such before finally closing the game session and go back to the main menu

Both the locking up of the game on loading (there are a lot of things to pull into memory!) and the freezing during saving (again, a lot of things to unload), followed by subsequent behaviour as described in your most recent note are normal behaviour for the game, especially if you have a large embark area, have done a lot of digging, have a lot of dwarves, or have a low amount of RAM.

The game is designed to exit to the main menu on saving. Did you think that was a crash?

Is this crash, any crash, at all reproducible?

If you find it is, could you please limit as much activity in the game as possible (ie: avoid digging, among others) before the crash so we can identify what exactly is causing it? If you manage to get it reproducing reliably without your interaction it would then be useful to report what time of year it is in game and what is going on just prior to the crash.

If you find that it's something you're doing in game that is causing the crash please identify SPECIFICALLY what that thing is. If you're playing the game normally it can be very hard to track what specific thing it is, since oftentimes your dwarves will be doing dozens of things simultaneously. Hence why it is so important to limit your activity in the game.

my first crash was in the middle of gameplay.....the second one was during a save

I both cases I had opened the cave network.....and believe me it was a very expansive cave

I had around 80 something dwarves on the first time and only 50-60 on the second

both occasions I was in the process of working down my backlog of gold bars I'd built up and putting them into crafts

for the most part I had actually done very little digging before the second crash...only really gathering the gems I had easy access to

How much RAM do you have, and what size is your embark area? (default is 4x4, maximum is 16x16)

since it was a full application error....it must of been a very large bug
