0006039: Soldiers do not replace tattered clothing that is part of a uniform
Soldiers that are assigned decaying clothing items (hoods, robes, etc) as part of their uniform do not replace them in a timely manner as they become worn, instead letting them rot away before replacing them. This leads to extra unhappy thoughts about worn and tattered clothing on military dwarves that are on the edge of insanity already.
Assign a uniform to a squad which contains clothing items that are susceptible to normal wear decay. Wait.

Are the soldiers A) assigned specific items, like "this particular leather hood", or B) item categories, like "any leather hood"? If A, this sounds like expected behavior. If B, please upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and post the link here.

B, dwarves are assigned "any hood". I will upload a save later, though you should be able to see this in pretty much any fort with 1) A standing military and 2) over 10 years old or so (long enough for clothing to become tattered).

Barracks are located at F2

Also, on a related note, while examining some of my axe dwarves I noticed they were wearing XX steel greaves XX. Is wear and tear on metal armor items expected, or is this a bug that I should report separately?
