0009390: Fort slows from a stable 100 fps down to a permanent 5 without anything unusual happening
The fort ran for 5 years without any noticable slowdown. A population of 71, 28 animals and 19 visitors. Then it suddenly drops down from 100 to 5 and doesn´t recover. The savefile ( http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11519 [^] ) is right at the moment the fps slows down.
The last things that happened were a completed workorder for a instrument piece and a evil cloud appearing at the surface.

Ok, I let the fort run for a while and I have found the cause of the slowdown: There was a Giant Cave Swallow trying to path through a door in my fort. As soon as it was removed from the door the fps jumped up to over a 100 immediatly.
The Creature is at the door directly at the entrance one level below the surface. Btw there is a forgotten beast parchment scroll a few tiles south of the door that produces smoke after a fire in the area for roughly two years now with no fire present

Thanks for follow-up. It is then a duplicate of old issue 0000797, "Animals/pets repeatedly try to find path through pet-locked/"tightly closed" doors, causing lag".

Regarding your burning scroll: artifacts cannot be destroyed by fire. If they are flammable, they can catch fire but never burn away. Try dumping some water on it.
