Summary | 0010026: Negative item distances also appear during forest fires
Description | This seems to be a new set of circumstances under which bug 4372 can appear. I can't see how to add a new comment there. A forest fire, set by a helpful dragon, which presumably has ignited some of my peach, cherry and almond logs laying uncollected on the map. For each of these three items I see dist/qty -28500/991 whenever I open the Build Wall/Floor etc. menu. If I expand the item list, I get a distances of -2850 to each. These numbers, both distances and the logs affected, vary while the fire burns.

Seen happen in 0.44.03 windows version. Forest fire aftermath. Possibly fire touched wood stockpiles, and definitely collapsed trees. |

TomiTapio posted a save in the forums: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1paxg1s8n5p06wj/OldGen-ironhand-forestfireglitch-region2.zip?dl=1 [^] There won't be any negative distances displayed when loading the save (bad paths are invalidated during save/load), but the negative distances can be reproduced by allowing the active forest fire to burn up to the tiles adjacent to any of the logs on the surface. This can also "corrupt" the quantity field in a manner that isn't entirely clear, however attempting to build a wall on top of the problematic logs shows a '0' distance value and "fixes" the quantity. Additionally, attempting to build a wall in a tile containing fire (or inside a ring of fire-tiles) results in all materials having negative distances. |
