Summary0005769: Adventure Mode speed loss bug on new character after gaining a few skills
DescriptionMy new adventure mode character experiences a strange loss of speed after a short period of play. It seems to happen after the character has gained a few skills. I noticed this happening on my first play and thought it might be a one-off bug. I force-quit DF and restarted from my initial save, and had the same thing happen again shortly thereafter under similar circumstances(fighting random animals to gain combat skill). I then tested it with the swimming skill, as that skill is easy to raise and control. After going from novice to talented in skill, my adventurer again mysteriously lost a great deal of speed. No crutches were equipped nor was vampirism involved. The character was not sneaking, laying down, encumbered, tired, wounded, or incapacitated in any way.

The save is located here:

Steps To ReproduceLoad the Copy of Region8 save in DF, move a few squares in any direction, and watch speed fall from 2057 to 1485. No message or reason that this has happened is given in game.
Additional InformationA save of the character right after he was created is also included in the .rar file. No actions have taken place on the character in this save. I saved it immediately after I created the character.

Ironhand graphics set version .68 is installed on DF on my computer, so things may look strange if you don't use a tile set or a different tile set. I modded a couple of minor things in the raws: Ethics in humans and dwarves were changed, and platinum coinage was added to the four major races. Platinum material value was slightly increased in the inorganic_metals file. No other changes were made.
