0010068: Galena ore produced an iron crown artifact
When a stonecrafter entered a strange mood, I made galena available and forbade every other stone type, thinking I'd end up with a fairly pricey artifact since galena is more valuable than marble. The end result, instead of a galena crown, was an iron crown (decorated with copper). It is worth 14400 dwarf bucks. I haven't tried to reproduce this yet, but I probably will if I get another stonecrafter or mason who moods.
Worth mentioning is that the dwarf in question is now a legendary stonecrafter, and I'm fairly sure I used galena to make the artifact.

I did try making a regular galena crown and it -didn't- turn into an iron crown, so that's probably not the issue.

Most likely you forbade the galena while the artifact was under construction (0005625), perhaps accidentally while unforbidding all your other stones in the stocks screen. If the main material for an artifact is forbidden/removed, the result is an iron artifact.

Yeah, I think I switched it back to melt-only (as usual for ores) before it was actually done. This is the first time I've encountered this bug, so I didn't realize it would have adverse effects.
