"Vision lost" also appears on the Health z-tab when I tamed a bunch of voracious cave crawlers (which are also eyeless, [EXTRAVISION] creatures) in my fort. |

To my understanding its just a buggy game understanding of the game recognizing you have no eyes but the extra-vision giving you a field of sight anyway a bit like how forgotten creatures (and creatures with the ability to sense other creature classes in normal raws) can utilize targeted extra-vision to forever see a target through obstacles. When loaded up in DFhack GM editor, there is no pre-existing (understood or displayed by the dfhack production team anyway) boolean true/false for [EXTRAVISION] only the absence of vision and good vision. When you receive significant eye damage, one switches over to the other. |

Do you mean to say that [EXTRAVISION] allows non-player creatures to see through walls? |

No, thats sensory vision (sensing a creature as defined in creature tokens/all creatures as a FB only ability) through walls and works differently so that they can always track down or attempt to path to a target even through walls & obstacles that would block sight. [EXTRAVISION] allows you (and non-player creatures) to see in a normal fashion while otherwise your condition would be total blindness (or lack of bodypart eyes all together like blind cave ogres/bears which have no natural eyes & use [EXTRAVISION] to behave as normal creatures) |
