I meant that magma crabs have no actual ATTACKS defined, as in punches, bites, etc. Their ability to spit molten basalt is an interaction, specifically the use of the MATERIAL_EMISSION reaction. But if they get in close, and they're still waiting on the cooldown of their interaction, they'll attack whatever's threatening them with melee, and the push ensues because they HAVE no melee attacks defined.

"Push" is the default attack for creatures which lack appendages (or whose appendages have been rendered inoperable) such as blobs and sponges; use of a generalized attack verb is presumably intentional. Possible improvements to magma crabs (such as a biting attack) would be more appropriate in the suggestions forum.
