Summary0008399: Cannot swim into tiles of different depth than the one you are in.
DescriptionThis is a bug that was at least present in the previous version, and probably much, much longer.

Swimming through tiles of different depth requires a careful move, always. One may wait a tick and see if the water levels change, but the end result is that you cannot move through tiles of different liquid depth without a careful move command.
Steps To Reproduce-Get in water.
-Look for different depth tile than the one you are in (6, or 3, or 4. Occasionally the more feisty rivers will have random tiles of '6' depth, and I was in the caverns where the generation of roads seemed to cause this effect). Waterfalls, large cavern lakes, or occasional river spots work.
-Swim into tiles of different depth.

What I've observed in the past is a bit different: you cannot swim into a tile of depth 7 if you are in a tile of depth 6 or less, which is especially noticeable when you're in a body of water that is mostly 7/7 and partially 6/7, since the 6/7 tiles slosh around very rapidly and invariably end up right on top of you.

Confirmed this in the arena, couldn't move from a 6/7 tile to a 7/7 tile without carefully moving.

pisskop, does Quietust's note match what you are seeing? That would make this report a duplicate of 0005713.
